It’s very good and everything is in cloud

What do you like best about the product?

It consolidates SD-WAN, firewall-as-a-service, secure web gateway, and zero trust network access into a single cloud-native platform. This not only simplifies management but also reduces the need for multiple vendors and point solutions.

What do you dislike about the product?

While the platform is streamlined and easy to use, it can feel somewhat limited when trying to implement highly specific or complex security policies compared to more granular enterprise-grade firewalls or standalone solutions.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Cato SASE Cloud is solving the problem of managing fragmented network and security infrastructures. In many organizations, there are multiple point solutions—firewalls, VPNs, SD-WAN, and cloud access security brokers—all from different vendors. This complexity creates management overhead, security gaps, and performance issues.

CATO Networks - Product with varied features and business implications

What do you like best about the product?

Better Manageability of console. Product is user friendly as the deployment was custom tailored to be without intervention and configuration also surpassed all customer expectations. The implementation of product has also been a fantastic experience as the transition of existing policies were quite easlier for transition. As we are using this product on a daily basis, we have been able to mitigate the challenges faced earlier and ease the administration to a subtle level. The ease of integration with several compatible OEMs were also much effective and substantial. While the product have seen use cases been met properly, customer support is also one very useful and important delight where we got good support in terms of technicality and ease of use.

What do you dislike about the product?

None as such. Need much further evaluation to drill the product to a functionality level where dislikes of product can be highlighted thereof.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

POP selection is basis region. Effective use to events and plethora of customization options to dig deeper into the events. Addition of additional functionalities enhances the peoduct effectiveness.

I Support Cato

What do you like best about the product?

CATO is reliable, the hardware, the firmware, I have had no issue I think the Categories are well kept up to date, and detection of the app is pretty good. Support can be great at the end

What do you dislike about the product?

I am noticing about 10 ms for interVLAN routing, which is is my opinion too much latency, and much higher than any other things I have seen. When reviewing the monitoring, sometimes, adding multiple filters for something is not possible, or not that easy to figure it out. The license is very expensive. I cannot believe when I removed a site there was no licensing change or saving for the customer Support often gives useless insights on tikcet updates. The firewall rules don't seem to have a policy checker, or I haven't seen it. The rules are not easy to understand at first

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

sporadic Packet loss

Matthew Bennett

The ability to create micro-segmentation for multiple VLANs was a great capability made possible by SASE. The ability to add additional security components as needed is a huge plus.

5 year + admin in Cato

What do you like best about the product?

Deployment and management of new sites and resources are what I like best. The service is just extremely agile and scalable. We have been using Cato for about 5 years. I have also evaluated other SASE companies during contract renewal periods and have not found anyone that compares. In my opinion it is not even lose. Cato is the best

What do you dislike about the product?

Downside is not really a huge downside it is just a matter of learning new technology.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Fully converged cloud-native solution = untold savings in management and hardware and the ability to manage remotely. Top this off with an outstanding and reliable product and you suddenly find yourself able to manage multiple Sites from a single location quickly and efficiently.

Simple & Secure

What do you like best about the product?

The ability to connect the various production sites with simplicity, always knowing that you are protected by a next generation firewall. The CASB security part is certainly very interesting and allows you to access high-level security potential with simplicity and efficiency. Thanks to the connectors you can integrate easily with the main cloud based apps. The customer support is very quick to answer to your questions and the support level is very high.

What do you dislike about the product?

Purchasing VPN licenses in packs of 10. It would be very useful to have the option to purchase licenses individually.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Data lose prevention and the configuration of the external sites as branches in two quick configurations.

Mike Bretz
Global Team Lead, Network Infrastructure

I did not think that we could shut down, rebuild and transition our IT systems in less than 30 days. Cato defied the odds and performed admirably during a challenging time and under immense pressure. Cato did exactly what they said they would do. This is how you earn customer trust.

Daniel Feinler
CISO

The deployment speed with Cato SASE Cloud was a game changer. By working with Cato Networks, we were able to bring up the entire network with full security in less than a month. It was so fast that a competing SASE vendor didn’t believe us. Cato made it possible.

VP, Information Technology

The Cato platform gave us better visibility, saved time on incident response, resolved application issues, and improved network performance ten-fold.

Improved connectivity and Security

What do you like best about the product?

Cato SASE is good in managment. It has boosted our network performance and security. The support team is also responsive and quick to resolve any issues that come up.

What do you dislike about the product?

Cato SASE provides benefits there are a concerns worth mentioning. It not provide functionality, for larger firewall deployments with centralized management. Managing latency between sites is difficult.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Cato SASE . Its simplicity and user friendly nature have saved us time. Now we connect all our branches and mobile users while ensuring connectivity and enhanced security.

Cloud-native infrastructure "is very important, especially if you're looking at productivity for your team and how much resources you need to put on an activity or a project...What that means for us is, it's running on infrastructure in the cloud that you do not manage. It's not spinning up a virtual server, putting it in a cloud infrastructure and calling it cloud. It's different.

Carlo Curato
Information Technology Manager

To support remote users "during this pandemic, a lot of ISPs reported exchange or internet exchange pop issues. And being able to determine that using reports from the Cato client helps us triage issues faster, we would advice reaching out to ISPs if there's an issue in an area. And that central pane of glass, makes it easier for us to identify issues and address them for users.

Steve Waibel

In our previous MPLS system we would have to provision for new circuits and we would start that process when we started building a new building, and every time it was a rush at the end where the circuit still wasn't in and the store was about to open. Since we moved to Cato Network and we can use more generic lines, like a cable modem or a fixed wireless, we placed those orders and they're always in well in advance of the store opening. We've removed that stress completely.

Ian Bleazard

Cato has helped us respond to the COVID-19 outbreak significantly faster than would otherwise have been possible. We had been using a firewall as our VPN server but when our users shifted to working from home, we saw the CPU load jump to 79% as concurrent VPN usage more than tripled. We expect to hit over 90% when our VPN usage quintuples by end of week,” says Ian Bleazard, IT Director of Infrastructure and Analytics in the SMT segment of ASM Assembly Systems, a leading global supplier to the electronics business. “With Cato, we can equip all employees with a very scalable remote solution and instead of connecting to a VPN server, they can just connect straight into the Cato Cloud and be able to source all our global applications. We are also able to issue those licenses and manage the remote users from the same dashboard we use for our global offices. Having one console for everything makes the whole management process much simpler, and very much helped us stay on top of these unique circumstances.

Alf Dela Cruz

We are recommending Cato to our business partners. We love that the solution is cloud-based, easy to manage, and less expensive than other options.

Edo Nakdimon
Senior IT Manager

Our company is dispersed across the globe with over 80 office locations, many of them are on the Cato network. We utilize a few different VPN technologies. With the COVID-19 pandemic on the rise, many of our users began to work remotely. Our VPN traffic spiked, in some cases hitting the limits of our VPN servers,” says Edo Nakdimon, Senior IT Manager, at Geosyntec Consultants, an environmental engineering firm. “Instead of purchasing more VPN server licenses, we equipped remote users with Cato access. In a matter of 30 minutes we configured the Cato mobile solution with single-sign-on (SSO) based on our Azure AD. Cato provided us a scalable remote access solution that extends our QoS and network policies in our SD-WAN to our remote users and reduced the network overhead and bottlenecks for remote users as they connected directly to Cato, eliminating unnecessary hops across the public Internet core. The easily deployed SSO and web filtering integration provided us additional layers of security for our VPN users. The Cato mobile access solution is simple to deploy, yet robust. It improved our employees’ ability to securely and productively work remotely.

David Brouwers
IT Infrastructure & Service Level Manager

With MPLS, it took up to six months to connect a new office or warehouse location. That was simply unacceptable for a growing business like ours.

Paul Breitenbach
CIO

Cato seemed to be both very channel-focused and very flexible. Cato’s open to getting ideas from us, and are capable of incorporating them into their platform very quickly.

Paul Burns
IT Director

Cato gave us freedom. Now we can use a Socket, a VPN tunnel, or mobile client, depending on location and user requirements.

Tobias Rölz
EVP, Market and Digital Services

As an IT organization, we were well familiar with the benefits of the cloud and wanted the same for our network infrastructure,” says Tobias Rölz, Vice President of Global IT & Digital Business at Komax. “Cato allowed us to move intelligence and computation away from the edge SD-WAN appliance into the Cato Cloud. As a result, deploying branch SD-WAN became simpler, faster, and with less operational costs than what we experienced with a managed service running security processing on SD-WAN appliances

Mayoshiaki Kushiyama
Manage of Information Systems

Regarding infrastructure with the introduction of Cato, only one thing must be replaced, the socket, so we don’t have other equipment in-house, and we no longer have to worry.

Leslie W Cothren
Information Technology Director

Transitioning to Cato was so easy. I joke that it was like pressing the Staples’ Easy Button.

Kevin McDaid

Uptime has certainly increased. Users definitely feel it in their user experience. Things, like screen refreshes of our ERP system, seem to be a lot quicker with Cato.
