A mobile app for easily sharing files on the go.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sending and requesting sensitive files without jumping through hoops. Having a simple link we can use makes a real difference in how easy the exchange can be.
What do you like best about the product?
It's incredibly easy to implement and use daily. It works seamlessly with our existing Google Workspace. Onboarding happened the same day we signed the agreement basically.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside was that there is an annual commitment and the entire yearly license fee is due upfront. Thankfully we were able to pay for it but this is something that could potentially price out smaller businesses or independent professionals.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for sending protected health information quickly and easily to individuals who may otherwise not be able to receive this information securely. It makes compliant communication much faster and easier.
What do you like best about the product?
There is the ability to set a duration on how long the message is kept. Nice to be able to share secure emails and keep a history
What do you dislike about the product?
Occasionally, due to cookies or other login issues, clicking the link from email drives to a 401 page. Email Virtu link only opens in incognito mode
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sending secure API keys across different teams. More secure than Slack, sense of security
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best is how easily it allows us to share and collect Protected Health Information (PHI) while maintaining strict HIPAA compliance. It gives us robust end-to-end encryption without forcing patients or external providers to deal with complicated login portals or extra passwords.
What do you dislike about the product?
The browser extension occasionally toggles off or disappears after updates, requiring a quick reinstall or IT troubleshooting to get it working again in Gmail or Outlook.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Traditional HIPAA-compliant file exchanges rely on clunky patient portals or secure FTPs that confuse patients and external providers. Virtru allows external parties to open and send encrypted records directly in their browser with simple identity verification (like a one-time code), speeding up patient care coordination and intake.

Being able to turn it off or on very easily
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it is not working properly and having to wait or restart my computer. This is only about 10% of the time.

It works well with staying HIPAA compliant
What do you like best about the product?
I love that I can safely request and receive documents from our customers in an efficient way. I also appreciate how seamless it is to download documents, edit a request after it’s been sent, and add or remove encryption. It’s equally helpful that I can control how long the request stays open by setting a deadline.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing to dislike regarding Virtru Secure Share. It is awesome.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps when I need to receive large documents that an email can’t handle, and it also gives customers peace of mind knowing their personal or financial information is secure.
What do you like best about the product?
I really like the option to turn it off or on when sending messages to recipients outside of my work place. It gives a peace of mind when I have to share any HIPAA related details or documents.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to have more options when going to settings to turn it on and off permanently, because I accidentally turned it on and it was on for all of my emails and I couldn't toggle the switch off/on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I wouldn't say I have any problems that Virtru is solving for me.
Most of our sensitive client documents are in our electronic health record system. When we send records, half the time we fax them and the other half of the time we use secure email, which we've handled with the Virtru plugin.
We're going to extend Virtru to some of our HR and financial teams so they can encrypt their more sensitive information.
It gives us the confidence to know that we have a platform that we can transmit and protect CUI the way we're supposed to for the government. We know what to expect from our subs and all that and the flow down of CUI. It just makes us more confident in the whole game.
Our IT leader considered moving us to Microsoft 365's encryption last year, but he had a lot of trouble with it and said it wasn't even worth it. That's why we decided to stick with Virtru—we're very pleased with how easy it is, and we're happy with the price.
It was one of the easiest experiences. Slap the certificates in, open up the ports that were needed... Suddenly, we don't have to worry about how to collect logs and get them into our SIEM.
We want to empower people to understand when they're sending things if it's something that we need to be careful with. It's just teaching them to be human firewalls, as well. The gateway has DLP rules that protect us all the time, which is fantastic... but at the same time, they feel empowered internally to make a decision.
Virtru kind of came in and saved the day.
What do you like best about the product?
It gives me the ability to share information that contains confidential information with others that need to know the information. This makes the process of receiving confidential information easier and faster than having to wait for information to come via fax or mail. I am able to request records for my clients that gives the information that I need to be able to halp them and their families.
What do you dislike about the product?
Virtru has vanished off of my laptop on multiple occasions. I have had to take my laptop to the IT department to add it back on. I was able to add it back on the last time this occurred. When Virtru vanishes, this prevents me from being able to share confidential information.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can share information with my employees that needs to be confidential, as well as me gathering information that I need for my clients.

I one click option has been a game changer, it has made using encryption even easier for our end users

I wish there was an easy way to use this via the cellphone other than using the app.

Being a healthcare organization it is critical for use to have the ability to send data securely

My main dislike is that we had to adjust the settings so we wouldn’t have issues opening it in Office emails, but that’s a small thing compared with everything else we dealt with before.
