Everlaw has been a positive change not just for our firm but for our clients. The transparent pricing model makes it far easier to anticipate costs and share that information with our clients.
It’s blazingly fast, has an attractive and easy-to-understand user interface, and industry-leading security. Basically, if you can figure out how to share a photo on Facebook, you can figure out how to review and produce documents on Everlaw.
We weren’t happy with what was going on with our current (installed) system. I gave Byron (Liu – our Everlaw Account Manager) a call. I said, ‘Can you be up and running within 48 hours?’ He said ‘Yeah, no problem.’ We uploaded 200,000 docs to Everlaw within less than 24 hours. I wish all my other problems were solved like that!
So often you find the Enterprise apps that are full of functionality and power, but they haven’t really thought about the user experience or the user flow. It’s clear that Everlaw have spent considerable time and resource simplifying this process but not at the expense of capability.
To better serve our clients, we desperately wanted a new solution that wouldn’t require a lot of back-end programming, that wouldn’t force us to be dependent on a certified administrator to fix minor things, and that would be far more visually intuitive so we could quickly move through review and trial preparation.
It’s all about efficiency for us and improving the process, and Everlaw has been a huge help with that. And, in terms of business impact, it’s allowed us to focus on improving the employee experience, which is one of our main areas of focus.
What do you like best about the product?
You don't have to image your natives or OCR redactions. Storybuilder is a really nice add-on with no user fees. The tech support is very responsive, patient, and very friendly. Seems slightly easier to use/learn than Relativity but haven't run a production yet.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm still trying to get used to searching in Everlaw and don't like that there's not as many conditions to search by (e.g., is like, begins with, is less than, etc). I don't know, or haven't figured out how, to create different coding layouts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Transcript management and reports is something that Storybuilder has really helped us with and has done very well for us. It was key in our decision to try their discovery platform.
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to highlight and add notes within documents has been really useful when reviewing voluminous files. I've been able to quickly read previous notes when I log back in to continue my review. The code feature has been useful to group documents in a way that helps navigate and locate files.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to be able to extract specific pages from documents within Everlaw. I've encountered that for example I only need 3 pages out of a 25 page document and I can't simply take those out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sorting and navigating large files with very detailed information is hard usually on traditinal softwares. With Everlaw, I've been able to write notes as I review and quickly access them when I want to refresh myself or review something I had worked on before. I like that my documents live in the same space and I don't have to review in one software, take notes on a different one and have other users come in and change information. It makes it easier for multiple people to review the same documents so that we can each create different notes without altering each other's work. It has saved the team time when we need to jump back into any documents and has helped organized information in a way that is easy to understand.
What do you like best about the product?
Scale and features in the product are really good.

The user interface is not always intuitive.

ESI processing, review and production.

I think the processes are easy to manage. Uploading is easy, searching is easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like how the data field meta data is managed. If you scan a documement it gives it an edit date of the scanned date. However, it could be a letter dated years prior. The date field works well for emails. But for things like correspondence (letters), memoranda or agreements it does not work so well. It would be ideal if you could use an OCR feature to pull the actual date of those documents into a field.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As mentioned the dates. We have put in a ticket that perhaps the actual date of the document could be pulled from the OCR. We have had counsel on the other side of our cases complain about the document dates being incorrect i.e. do not match what is on the letter as it is using the edited date or sometimes, the date it was scanned.
What do you like best about the product?
What makes Everlaw an outstanding product is the clean interface and the exceptional customer support. I am still learning about the numerous features, but I know I will develop my skills over time and continue to appreciate all the Everlaw platform offers to legal professionals. So far, I have found the product easy to use, and when I need guidance and reach out to support, they are responsive, professional, and entirely helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
While there are plenty of excellent educational materials available to the user online, I would love to have a book or guide I could print out and read "on the go" when I don't have access to technology. It would be helpful to read and learn about all the features and build on my knowledge as I go.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Everlaw identifies duplicate materials, which helps streamline the document review process immensely. The coding process is easy to master, and the Storybuilder feature is phenomenal. I also find transcription of audios and videos to be enormously useful.
What do you like best about the product?
The things that I like best about Everlaw are the ease of use and the custome support. The user inteface and functionality are more user friendly than the other E-discovery tools that I have used. The features and custimization for the user are also better than with other tools that I have used.
What do you dislike about the product?
Even when thengs are not working as the user would like, customer support is receptive to suggestions and attempting to work on a solution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems that Everlaw is helping my team solve are the ease of use and the time needed to parse the data. The search functionality is very user friendly which is making it easier for all users on my team, this in turn is saving all involved time.
What do you like best about the product?
One of the things that I like best about Everlaw is the ability to upload/import documents easily. We are able to perform most uploads ourselves without the need for a vendor or support. The documentation is very good and easy to access when we need some assistance.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are not many dislikes but sometimes the screens are not intuitive as to how to proceed to next steps. This is very rare.

Everlaw makes it easy to keep data secure and available. Response is fast and makes it easy for attorneys to perform review rathter than clicking to find where they need to be.

Everlaw makes the tedious process of e-discovery less painful, allowing users to quickly upload diverse data sets and get eyes on the most relevant material quickly. It's also easy to use, and makes the review process simpler and more cost effective.

I can't think of any meaningful downsides.

Data is ever expanding, and Everlaw is helping us to zero in on what matters.
