Mistakes are rare for us, but sometimes they do happen—a person spells a name wrong and an email goes somewhere it shouldn’t. With Virtru, we have very hands-on, flexible administration that gives us more control. If we need to revoke an email, we can. If we need to track an email to ensure it was encrypted, we have that ability.

The Virtru Private Keystore is super seamless. Everything is running smoothly. From a customer standpoint, it really makes a difference: They now feel that they're much more in control and that Google will not be able to access their data.
The biggest thing for us and the biggest reason that we picked Virtru over a lot of the others was the simplicity of not only all the automatic rules that we were able to put in place. We were able to key off of procedures that they're already doing.

People often don't think hard about the level of exposure they have with something as simple as email.
Once we had the greenlight to move forward with Virtru, we were up and running very quickly and our employees saw how easy it is to encrypt an email before sending it. With Virtru, we are not adding any additional layers of complexity to our email workflows. Everyone—from the CEO to our case managers—agrees that Virtru doesn’t obstruct the way we communicate over email, but rather makes for a better experience. When staff can send an email without having to worry about client privacy or compliance, it makes their job that much easier.
Our support team would have to get out of Zendesk and spin up a Box account and transfer files. And those files could be everything from single sign-on certificates to HAR files. We have to protect that data. So [we embedded] Virtru in our Zendesk, again, making the process easier.
This is literally easy for anybody to use. You don't need any technical background.
As an IT Manager, Virtru has simplified our email encryption strategy immensely. It's incredibly easy for our users to adopt, and its seamless integration with our existing email platforms has been a major win. Virtru truly provides robust security without complicating our workflow.
Yeah. I think it's an interesting kind of connection of events. So I was at AWS for about five and a half years, and I kinda became the lead of our MPE efforts as I mentioned. And, on the DOD side, MPE as a mission, moved from the area of Air Force Executive Agency to DISA. And when that happened, you know, transitions in larger organizations are more difficult. And so, I knew that I wanted to continue on that mission. MPE is a passion of mine, and I think it's probably the most important thing that the DOD kinda has on its plate right now. And every interaction that I had had, on any of our MPE efforts, it seemed that Virtru was involved in some way, shape, or form. You know, the data-centric security of that piece of the tech stack seemed to always be at that intersection. So, you know, Virtru came up again and again and again. I was involved in a workshop and a project at AWS where we were actually using Virtru to build a demo piece for AUKUS, which is a trilateral kind of data sharing agreement between The US, UK, and Australia. And Virtru was used there. And it was kind of an interesting, again, connection of events where Virtru came up again. I was also involved with Project Olympus, and with connecting some of the data with HighMast. And again, Virtru was there again. And so we kinda became a fan of what Virtru had to offer and the services that it specifically provided. What you'll find is that in the DOD world, almost everything still uses network-based security. Everything's network isolation. Everything's air-gapped, either through, you know, direct, physical air gap or through some sort of encryption. And ABAC really is kind of a tack on, you know, the idea of zero trust is kind of, hey. Let's do this in addition to what we're already doing. And I think Virtru is kind of a standout, differentiator there when it comes to saying, hey. Zero trust is the core of what you do. Data-centric security is the core of what you do. And so I think the stars aligned. I saw I needed to make a shift. And then with, you know, we're gonna talk about a little bit about what happened in Brussels. Again, Virtru came on my radar again, and I think it just, signs pointed that direction. And when the opportunity came, I find myself here trying to continue that MPE mission, that I think is so vital to the DOD efforts.
Virtru is just making [encryption] as simple as possible–to the point where you kind of say, well, why didn’t you use it? You want to remove the excuses from this equation. Virtru is a fantastic catch-all.
Deployment is the key, when you're deploying to 80 to 100 people, you don't want to have to sit there and pick and pick apart and have to help each person. So if you have an intuitive system that can guide them through, and boom they're done — Virtru does that.
It's a sacred responsibility for us to be able to talk with these folks and share what we're supposed to share, and keep confidential the things that we're supposed to keep confidential.
We’re currently using Google and have adopted Google Workspace for our collaboration needs, and whilst it has its own built-in security elements, when it came to providing encrypted email, we found Virtru to be second to none.
That level of customer service is invaluable.
Took me less than an hour to have it configured on our side. I spent an hour and a half or two hours creating custom how-to's and recorded a 10-minute video of myself playing with it... and deployed it in less than a day.
The ability to pull back an email is a really cool feature, because there are scenarios where that happens. I probably hear once a year about a school district where an IEP accidentally gets sent to a lot of people it wasn’t supposed to go to. I can sleep better at night knowing that, if someone accidentally sent an email to the wrong person, and Virtru protection was enabled, we could just revoke access. Thankfully, this hasn’t happened to us, but I like that it gives us control if that situation were to arise.
It's very rare that we get a vendor with this type of acumen and reputation… It was different. It was refreshing. You made my job easy.
